And for those who advance boldly on this Path, who aspire towards practical cognition of God and are full of sincere Love to Him, the crucial stage of their ethical self-correction (in terms of controlling ones emotions) will be trainings on psychic self-regulation. These trainings begin with acquiring proficiency in shifting the concentration of consciousness from one chakra to another. Since chakras are the organs, responsible for generation of emotions and of other psychic states. For instance, anahata chakra (the spiritual heart)3 is the organ that generates emotion of cordial love. Therefore, if we have purified and developed this energetic structure by special exercises, the mere entering it with concentration of consciousness will be enough to get us out of states

Alarming statistics show that because of low self esteem:

more than 29% of students drink alcohol everyday
over 16% of students smoke cigarettes everyday
18 per 1000 teens become victims of violent crimes like rape, robery, homicide, and aggravated assault
15 per 1000 teens have commited such crimes
5% of ages 4-17 have severe emotional, social, concentration and behavior difficulties
With the kind of lifestyle we have right now, we are often faced with a lot of responsibilities of parenting, not to mention, the difficulty of becoming and staying involved with our children’s physical and emotional well-being, let alone wonder how our kids are coping in life. As busy as we are, we can help our kids:

overcome low self esteem, shyness and insecurities
gain self confidence and self worth
be free from fears and negative thoughts

The straight faced and highly talented actor Ajay Devgan who is currently busy with the shooting of his film ‘London Dreams’ is actually playing a rock star in this one. For this, there is news that Ajay joined hands with designer Ana Singh and has come out with a rather sporty look that befits the image of a rock star. “I was very surprised with the three Oscar nominations for Slumdog”: A. R. Rahman

To say that A R Rahman has had a busy day is nothing new but he had an extraordinarily hectic day on Saturday last week.
In between giving the finishing touches to the score for Delhi-6 and taking in over a dozen congratulatory messages following three Oscar nominations for his work in Slumdog Millionaire, he was also getting ready to fly to Los Angeles to join fellow Oscar nominees at a formal dinner. The following interview with rediff.com’s Arthur J Pais was conducted in his Chennai office.

How did you hear about your Oscar nominations?

I watched the live announcements on TV. You know they announce on TV just a few nominations including the best picture, director, script and the actors. The announcements were over and I switched off the TV and got ready for another working day at my studio in Chennai.

Just then I got a call from my agent in Hollywood, and I heard him say something about three nominations for Slumdog Millionaire. And I told him, Yes, I watched the TV and I know the film has received three nominations. He then said, you have received three nominations and in all the film had received 10.

You surely were expecting the nominations, weren’t you?

I did not think seriously about the prospects. I am like the film’s director Danny Boyle. You do your work and hope things work out well. Frankly speaking, I was very surprised that I got three nominations, two of them going for the songs. Some of my songs in Water and Rang De Basanti have made to the short list, and yet I was very surprised with the three nominations for Slumdog in two categories.

Why were you surprised?

I knew Jai Ho was a hit. I had heard about people cheering the song wherever the film has been shown. I though it would be okay to push for one song (for nominations) but MIA (who joined him in writing and singing O Saya) thought we should push that song too. And she proved to be absolutely right.

The gorgeous green eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai who has been busy with her two south Indian flicks ‘Endhiram’ and ‘Ravana’ could not believe her ears when she heard it. But then, she has been chosen as the recipient of the Padma Shri awards for her contribution in the field of cinema. There is a difference between “love” and “in love”.
I can say I love my mom, my dogs, my brother, my friends (may be same gender or opposite gender) but that does not mean I am in love with them. So I was thinking how can we really define being “in love” with somebody? Affection is the path or reality of caring and niceness but lack of sexual interest. Attraction (Infatuation) is the path that leads to sex. When a woman feels affection for you, youre probably too much of a nice guy. She may think of you as just a friend or maybe even a potential husband who has provider stamped all over his forehead. Maybe youd be someone she can end up bossing around if you remain complacent. Affection is something you feel for a puppy dog. (FOR YOU - May be you are unable to boss him / treat him as a puppy dog and are getting upset then it is OK to continue) Attraction is something entirely different. When a woman feels the powerful emotions of attraction and attributes it to you, all kinds of interesting things are going to happen. (now if you are feeling attraction for this guy - YOU NEED to be CAREFUL - as you are already married - as may be due to attraction you stand a chance to surrender in certain circumstances and may become physical with him - which will be lead to TRAGEDY some day) Being seen as a lover is different than the social archetype of being a provider. whether you are emotional and understand women or not, you can still get to sex because of the attraction and emotion SHE is going through. If a woman feels affection for you, things will rarely lead to sex, unless attraction is added and then it is defined as in-Love. It is known news that hunk Shahid Kapoor and hot girl Kareena Kapoor broke up since a while but then they did a film titled ‘Milenge Milenge’ before things went wrong. Now, the film has been stuck badly and it is yet to see the light. Sources say that the basic enthusiasm for the film has also gone down and given the fact that both Shahid and Kareena look quite different now, it is going to be a real hard thing to say when this film will actually hit the screens.

It has been a while since white hunk Dino Morea and elegant beauty Lara Dutta have been keeping everyone on their toes about their relationship. However, this has now been clarified and sources very close to both have confirmed that they are indeed in love with each other deeply. However, they maintained that given the ups and downs along with the bumpy rides they had in their personal lives, they have decided not to talk about it outside and maintain a low profile.

The hot and gorgeous Divya Dutta who is an authentic Delhi babe got down to sharing her thoughts when someone asked what she missed most about the city. Having spent her childhood there, Divya recalled the time when she used to meet up with other children and all of them used to celebrate festivals together and have many delicacies.
